Stamp for Hire…a special birthday card!

hand made birthday cardI thought I would share a quick card and a story before I am off for the weekend. I got a call yesterday from a customer asking if I could manufacturer a birthday card, with pink and red strawberries, in an hour. I wasn’t sure at first, but it was for a very special lady so I got to thinking. I don’t have any a muse studio strawberry stamps, but my cherry and bubblegum petite polka dot paper  would make CUTE strawberries. I thought on it and then started to dig around in my Sizzix dies. That’s when I found the cute little strawberry. As soon as I put my hands on that die, I knew a birthday card with pink and red strawberries was going to be no problem!  I cut the berries out of a muse studio petite polka dot cherry and bubblegum card stock, then for contrast I cut a few from solid cherry and bubblegum too.  They were too cute!  What now?  Hmmmm…I was shuffling through all the wonderful rubber stamp sets I have gotten from a muse studio and settled on Birthday Builder, of course!  It’s the perfect stamp set to complement my die cut berries.  I stamped the sentiment in Grass and French Roast ink, also from a muse studio.  Now what?  The berries were floating all over the card – so I bunched them up.  Well, that didn’t work!   I needed a basket!  I reached for my kraft card stock scraps and cut 1/4 inch strips.  Then I wove the little basket….wouldn’t that be PERFECT with the Bunny Trio Die for Easter baskets?  That’s when I called up my very special customer and told her that her card was going to be ready.  I played around with some a muse studio gingham card stock and cherry stitched grosgrain ribbon to add finishing touches.  When my customer arrived she had this little gift with her.  Isn’t it a perfect match!  No wonder she asked for a birthday card with pink and red strawberries!  That wired ribbon is adorable! That’s it for today AND tomorrow I am off.  I will be attending an Easter Breakfast at church followed by worship, then TWO  Easter egg hunts and dinner with family!  Have a very blessed Resurrection Sunday!Stamps: a muse studio  birthday builder Paper: a muse studio cherry, bubblegum, sage, grass and sugar.  cherry, bubblegum and sage petite polka dot, cherry gingham, and kraft card stock Ink: A muse studio grass and french roast Accessories: a muse studio cherry stitched grosgrain ribbon and mini brad, sizzix fruit & leaves die, fiskars long scallop scissors
